Luke: I’ll say yes, but it’s one of my weakest yeses, a damn good film that more people should see when compared to Hitchcock’s other great films.

Luke: Yes, it’s an excellent haunted house movie that stands quite comfortably head and shoulders above others I’ve seen. Inventive, psychological, very impressive.

Luke: Not for me, it was too cold, heartless and impenetrable to be of worth, though I know that’s the point. Just uncomfortable despite a very impressive performance from Michael Rooker. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Luke: Yes, it has plenty of minor flaws, but is a seminal piece of work in the crime thriller genre of film, and holds up incredibly well for the epic seven hour film serial that it is.
